D-Mannose

Did you know?

ZeinPharma® uses only the best birch mannose in its purest form for its D-mannose products. Many other producers use maize instead as a low-cost alternative. In the case of maize, however, the origin may be genetically modified. Back in 2012, we were one of the first manufacturers to successfully establish pure D-mannose from birch bark on the German market and we therefore have many years of scientific experience and raw material expertise. We are No. 1 with a large number of products in German pharmacies!

D-Mannose is a bioactive simple sugar (chemical monosaccharide) that occurs mainly as a natural component of cell membranes and mucous membranes in our body. Mannose is also found in small amounts in our foods, for example in various fruits. Unlike related types of sugar, such as B. the more well-known glucose, D-mannose is not metabolized in the organism, but reaches the kidneys directly via the bloodstream and from there unused into the bladder, where it is discharged again.

When it comes to taste, look out for the following quality features of D-Mannose:
In addition to birch bark, D-Mannose has another quality feature as its origin, namely its unique taste. Synthetically produced D-mannose tastes only sweet. Real birch mannose has a sweetish and bitter taste at the same time. The sweetness is caused by the α-form, the bitterness by the β-form of natural sugar. When buying D-Mannose, you should therefore always pay attention to both taste components.
ZeinPharma® stands for optimally dosed monoproducts with the highest levels of purity. Analyzes by independent German laboratories confirm that our D-mannose has not been diluted with glucose, sucrose or other substances. In addition, other ingredients such as cranberries are deliberately avoided.

Our expert tip
If you want to increase the natural effect of D-mannose, you should keep an eye on your acid-base balance and make sure that the pH value is as acidic as possible. In this case, a simultaneous supplementation with vitamin C or L-methionine can be useful. Here we recommend e.g. 2 g Natural D-Mannose plus 500 mg Vitamin C daily.

Frequently asked questions
