Biotin supports healthy skin and hair as is a cofactor in the formation and degradation of protein structures. It stimulates the differentiation of epidermal cells by promoting the proportion of stability-relevant keratin-matrix-proteins through the storage of sulphur-containing amino acids in the hair root cells as well as the nail-forming cells. Biotin is therefore also useful for flaky and dry skin. In addition, biotin is a cofactor in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism and supports the formation of erythrocytes, lymphocytes and antibodies.
