Did you know?

The ashwagandha root (Whitania somnifera) is also known as the sleep berry, winter cherry or Indian ginseng and means ”smell of the horse" in English. Traditionally, it is used in Ayurvedic medicine as a strengthening and stress-relieving tonic, as it is believed that ashwagandha increases physical resilience. Ashwagandha therefore takes its place as the King of Ayurvedic Herbs. The efficacy of ashwagandha root is said to come from a complex blend of active ingredients, so all ingredients must be present in their natural proportions, just as they are in the root, without over-representing any one ingredient.
Our extract, which is contained in ZeinPharma® Ashwagandha KSM-66® Extract capsules, was researched and developed for 14 years and tested in 22 randomised human studies according to the Gold Standard . Our Ashwagandha 500 mg capsules contain exactly this so-called full spectrum extract with the optimal balance of all ingredients from the most researched and patented KSM-66® Extract. You can buy our ashwagandha capsules directly in our shop or in any German pharmacy, quoting the Pharmacy Central Number (PZN): 16702997.

What part of the plant is included in the plant extract?

The plant extract contained in the Ashwagandha Extract Capsules 500mg from ZeinPharma® comes from the roots of the plant and is extracted as a full spectrum with milk

What is the HPLC analysis?

HPLC analysis (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) is a method for separating, identifying, and quantifying chemical compounds in a sample. HPLC analysis is used in many areas of chemistry, pharmacy, and biotechnology to determine the purity and concentration of compounds and to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses. The extraction ratio of Ashwagandha Extract Capsules 500mg from ZeinPharma® was confirmed using the HPLC method.

Can I open the capsules?

In general, opening the capsules is harmless. Our Ashwagandha extract has a fairly neutral, slightly buttery taste and is not bitter like other Ashwagandha extracts, making it an excellent choice for use in food and beverages. We recommend warm milk before bedtime or Golden Milk at lunchtime.

What is the optimal time of day to use the capsules?

Our recommendations:

  • After dinner, preferably 30 minutes before bedtime
  • 30 minutes before a physical activity
  • At lunchtime, 30 minutes before the main meal

How should I store the capsules?

You can store the capsules at normal room temperature in a dry environment. As long as they are protected from direct sunlight, you can choose the storage location freely.

Can the capsules be used permanently?

The capsules can be safely used permanently. Usually, no side effects occur.

Are there any possible side effects?

Generally, no side effects occur as long as the recommended dose is followed.

What is the difference between normal Ashwagandha powder and ZeinPharma® KSM-66 Ashwagandha extract powder?

It is often assumed that Ashwagandha in any capsules is equivalent to an extract. This assumption, which is quite reasonable, is exploited by vendors who simply fill capsules with Ashwagandha root powder and add a low-quality leaf powder extract blend. The powder is then sold as 10 % extract. However, these capsules are far from a high-quality extract!

An Ashwagandha extract, as found in our product as well as in most published studies, is understood to be the concentration of all water-soluble components, as the root powder is dissolved to make this extract and the water-soluble components are subsequently dried. !

An elaborate process resulting in a highly concentrated Ashwagandha powder called an extract, which deserves this designation! !

One of our ZeinPharma® Ashwagandha capsules contains 500 mg, which is approximately 6000 mg of Ashwagandha powder and tastes not bitter, but buttery. Filling this extract into capsules results in a very high-quality product that cannot be compared to root powder-filled capsules. Neither in terms of price nor effect. !

So, when buying, always be sure to check what is in the capsules!

How is the ZeinPharma® Ashwagandha extract produced?

Our Ashwagandha extract powder KSM-66® uses a specially developed extraction method (without toxic or environmentally damaging solvents). The Ashwagandha KSM-66® extract is standardized according to its active ingredients, ensuring consistent content.

Simple powder, on the other hand, is essentially just the dried and ground plant or root, lacking a proper spectrum of active ingredients. Additionally, a large amount of powder is needed to achieve the same amount of our KSM-66 extract®. Production takes place in India according to the highest quality, production, and hygiene standards.

Certifications: GMP (USP, NSF, NPA-UL, WHO), 100 % USDA Organic, Non-GMO (Non-GMO Project Verified), gluten-free (GFCO), BSCG drug-free, kosher, halal, HACCP, and several others.

Why is milk used for the extraction of Ashwagandha?

The Ashwagandha extract KSM-66® is produced using a full-spectrum extraction method, in which both water-soluble and fat-soluble components of the Ashwagandha root extract are obtained using milk and water. Milk contains fat, which serves as a carrier for the fat-soluble components that are released from the root during the extraction process. The water-soluble components are extracted using the water used in the process. The combination of water and milk thus enables a complete extraction of all relevant components of the Ashwagandha extract. Additionally, milk can specifically help reduce the bitterness of Ashwagandha, making it more palatable and easier to consume even without a capsule
